A charming journey through art, history, gastronomy and nature
Parma is a city of aristocratic traditions, important monuments and prized art masterpieces.
Parma is the first Italian city designated UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy.
The Food Museums intend to enhance and explain the flavors of Parma typical products: from Culatello, the famous Parma ham, Felino salami, Regal Spalla Cotta di San Secondo, the sumptuous Parmigiano Reggiano, Tomato preserves, Pasta and Wines of the hills.
Parma is, and has always been, a cultural capital. Just think of all the illustrious people and acclaimed artists that contributed to the glory of the city: Benedetto Antelami, Correggio, Parmigianino, Bodoni, Bottesini, Paër, Verdi and Toscanini. Parma has also inspired poets and writers – the main of which was Stendhal who described the city in his book “La Chartreuse de Parme.” Parma is unlike any of the other medium-sized city in Italy. All of these characteristics add to the city’s uniqueness.
